Parks, Camps Are Conservation Leaders

Respondents to the Industry Report Survey from parks and camp facilities were the most likely to indicate both that theygraph were involved in conservation initiatives and that they felt that conservation issues were a top concern for their facilities over the next several years.

More than one-fifth (20.3%) of all respondents said they were currently involved in conservation initiatives at their organizations, while just 8.4% said that conservation issues were a top concern for their facility. By comparison, 33.1% of park respondents and 25% of camp respondents said they were currently involved in conservation initiatives at their facilities. And 10.3% of park respondents and 18% of camp respondents said they feel that conservation issues are a top concern.

Respondents from colleges (20.4%) were also more likely than others to indicate they were involved in conservation initiatives at their facilities. And 21.9% of rec center respondents said they feel conservation is an issue of top concern for the industry.
