Which Moments Do You Live For?

According our annual Salary Survey, published each July, most of you readers out there are pretty happy at work. Every year, the Industry Report results reveal an audience of recreation, sports and fitness facility directors, managers, CEOs and so on who are overwhelmingly satisfied with their work.

Of course, that doesn't mean you're happy all the time. Challenges arise. Work can be frustrating. And I'm pretty sure it's just not possible to find a job that's all wine and roses, all the time.

I'm with (most of) you—mostly highly engaged and motivated and pleased to be doing what I'm doing. And, like you, I find myself faced with challenges from time to time. Frustrations. Annoyances. Things I'd rather not be doing. The thing is, those low moments are pretty few and far between. The good is still dominant.

This month, we're introducing something new that falls squarely onto the I-can't-wait-to-tackle-this side of the to-do list: The Aquatics Industry Report.

Long-time readers are likely familiar with our annual State of the Industry Report, which we publish every June. The report is based on a 50-question survey, and your engagement as readers is evident in the number of completed surveys we get back. Putting together the report isn't a simple task, but for a long time, it's been one of my favorite issues of the year.

With the addition of the Aquatics Industry Report, we're adding a little bit of that fun (for me) and great information (for you) to nearly every issue of Recreation Management. The report is based on a separate survey, with responses from more than 1,000 readers. You can find the first installment, where we take a look at who responded and from where, on page 16.

Researching and providing information is one of the tasks I live for in my day-to-day work, and I'm excited to be able to delve into more data and deliver more information than before.

What moments do you live for at work? Can you celebrate them, in spite of the challenges and frustrations that arise?

Cheers!
