Nearly half (49.1 percent) of respondents to our Industry Report survey said they currently include walking and hiking trails in their facilities. Another 29.7 percent said they include bike trails. Some 20.8 percent have fitness trails or outdoor fitness equipment, and 20.8 percent currently include waterfronts and marinas.

Looking forward, fitness trails and outdoor fitness equipment are among the most common additions planned by those who said they will be adding features at their facilities over the next three years. Some 18.5 percent of those with such plans will be adding fitness trails and outdoor fitness equipment. Another 14 percent plan to add walking and hiking trails. Some 9.8 percent will be adding bike trails, and 1.9 percent plan to add waterfronts and marinas.
