INDUSTRY STATS

Aquatic Management & Pool Operations Certification

Aquatic Management & Pool Operations Certification

Among respondents to the 2018 State of the Industry survey, 33.8 percent said they currently require aquatic management and pool operations certification of at least one staff member. Bear in mind that this number includes all respondents, only around half of whom indicated that their facilities currently include aquatic elements.

Aquatic management and pool operations certifications are most commonly found among respondents from Ys, where 53.9 percent said they require such certification. They were followed by parks (44 percent) and community centers (40.4 percent).

Around three in 10 respondents from camps (33.3 percent), colleges and universities (30.6 percent) and health clubs (28.6 percent) also said they currently require such certifications. Only 8.7 percent of school respondents said they currently require aquatic management and pool operations certifications. However, it is worth noting that fewer of these respondents include aquatics among their facilities than those from other segments.
