Social Equity & Access in Parks vs. Non-Parks

Social Equity & Access in Parks vs. Non-Parks

While overall the percentage of respondents who report that they consider social equity and access to facilities as a top concern has fallen over the past four years, among parks respondents, the percentage has held fairly steady, and even increased slightly.

For non-parks respondents, the percentage who feel that social equity and access is a top concern has dropped from 8.1% in 2016 to 6.4% in 2019.

At the same time, the percentage of parks respondents who report that they believe social equity and access is a top concern has held relatively steady. In 2016, 10.6% of parks respondents said they believed social equity and access was a top concern. This number fell slightly, to 10.6% in 2017 before dropping again in 2018 to 8.7%. In 2019, however, the number increased again, with 10.9% of parks respondents indicating they believe social equity and access are a top industry concern.
