PHTA Recognizes Achievements in Aquatics

Earlier this year, the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) joined forces with the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) to form the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), with a mission to "Celebrate the Water." And recently, the PHTA announced the winners of the 2019 Awards Program, which recognizes outstanding achievements and performers in the pool, spa and hot tub industry. The award winners were honored at the PHTA Awards Reception, held on Nov. 4 in New Orleans.

Construction Planned for Aquatic Facilities

Construction Planned for Aquatic Facilities

Respondents to Recreation Management's State of the Industry Report who were from aquatic facilities were more likely than non-aquatic respondents to report that they had plans for construction at their facilities over the next several years. Nearly three-quarters (72.3%) of aquatic respondents said they had such plans, compared with 68.5% of non-aquatic respondents.

Aquatic respondents were more likely to have plans both to build new facilities and renovate their existing facilities, while non-aquatic respondents were more likely to be planning additions.

For aquatic respondents, one-third (33.4%) were planning new construction, nearly one-third (32.4%) were planning additions and 55.9% were planning renovations. Among non-aquatic respondents, 30.6% were planning new construction, 34.2% were planning renovations, and 48.9% were planning renovations.
