Study: Students at More Than Half of California's High Schools Are at Risk of Injury

A study published in the Journal of Athletic Training, the National Athletic Trainers' Association's (NATA) peer-reviewed scientific publication, finds that more than 47 percent of schools in California do not have an athletic trainer (AT), a health care professional who provides preventative services, emergency care, clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions, considered to be the gold standard of care according to the sports medicine community.
