Select a Restroom Structure That Fits Your Needs

When you provide your park patrons with access to clean and pleasant restrooms, it can really make a difference in their experience of your site, whether that's a rural nature trail or a sports park in the suburbs. Premanufactured concrete restroom structures can be found in a variety of configurations that can meet the needs of any site. In addition, they are quick and simple to install.

Q: We'd like to include restrooms at a new park we're planning, but we're concerned about our construction budget. Is there a simple, cost-effective way to add restrooms?

A: When you're on a budget, you want to be sure you're getting the most bang for your buck. Providing a restroom facility for visitors doesn't need to break the bank. Premanufactured vault restroom structures can be delivered to your site and installed with minimal work required at the site. You won't have to waste budget dollars that could be better spent elsewhere on a lengthy design process.

You can simply perform the minimal sitework required, which includes excavating for the vault, and you'll be ready to go as soon as your restroom structure is delivered. Reliable manufacturers will provide factory-trained installers who will have your restroom installed and working in just a day.

Q: We like the idea of premanufactured restroom structures, but we want to provide plumbing and electric in our park restrooms.

A: Vault-style restrooms are not the best option for every site. If you have electric and plumbing hookups at your site already, it will be quite simple to add a premanufactured restroom structure that includes lights and running water. Cost-effective flush facilities are available to suit your needs.

As with vault restrooms, these facilities will be delivered to your site ready for installation and use. Sitework on your end will be minimal. Utility stubs on a gravel pad are all you need. And, just like vault restrooms, most flush facilities can be installed and ready to go in just a day.

Q: Our park has a unique look, and we don't want to install a restroom structure that doesn't fit in. Can premanufactured restroom structures be customized to fit our park's personality?

A: Many restroom structures do have a uniform, utilitarian look, but you can find manufacturers that provide a variety of designs to choose from. You'll be able to make your selection from a range of colors, as well as textures, which will help match the structure to your park's look. A variety of roof pitches, walls designed to resemble barns, stucco, brick, stone or wood—mix and match the various customization options, and you'll be sure to get the fit you're looking for.

Also don't forget to ask about park furnishings. Some restroom manufacturers also design park furnishings that will fit in with the restroom structure's look.

Q: Our climate can be severe. How do we know our restroom structure can withstand harsh weather conditions?

A: Be sure to talk to your manufacturer about their structures' ability to handle the weather. You'll want to find structures that feature high-strength precast concrete roofs and walls that meet local building codes. Steel door frames and window frames cast into the concrete walls will help ensure that bolts and fasteners will not come loose or get ripped off in heavy winds.

The concrete panels of your building should be welded together. This makes the structure strong enough to withstand severe weather conditions, including heavy snows, wind, hurricanes, seismic design category E earthquakes, flooding and mud.
