ACA to Launch Training for Camps Serving Youth With Chronic Illness

Campers living with serious and chronic illness have the opportunity to step outside of their comfort zones, experience the wonders of camp and thrive. A new training track from the American Camp Association will address a range of issues, needs and strategies for professionals working with medically focused camp programs.

ACSM, PRIVIT Aim to Promote Athlete Health & Safety

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and PRIVIT announced a strategic alliance focused on implementing best practices that improve athlete health and safety. Leveraging the strengths of both organizations, the partnership's first offering is the ACSM PREP Profile. Powered by Privit, PREP Profile is an online pre-participation physical evaluation (PPE) tool that will vastly improve efforts to protect the health and safety of athletes.

Veterans Earn Scholarships Toward Fitness Careers

Taking a stand for the military community, the American Council on Exercise (ACE) launched its Salute You Scholarship program in 2013. The program gives honorably discharged military men and women the opportunity to pursue new careers in fitness as ACE Certified Personal Trainers. The program equips veterans with the ACE Personal Trainer Certification program study materials, an exam registration voucher and one-on-one study assistance at no cost.
