Model Aquatic Health Code Awareness & Participation

In Recreation Management's most recent Aquatic Trends Report, appearing in the February 2020 issue, we found that a majority of respondents to the survey—57.5%—are familiar with the Model Aquatic Health Code, up from 53.2% in 2017.

Some 22.3% of 2020 respondents are very familiar with the MAHC, while 35.2% said they are somewhat familiar with it.

We also asked respondents whether the regulatory agency that governs their facilities has adopted the MAHC, either fully or partially. Slightly less than half (46.3%) were not sure. Nearly one-third (32.5%) said their regulatory agency had not adopted the MAHC. Some 5.8%. percent said the MAHC had been fully implemented by their regulatory agency, up from 4.1% in 2018, and 15.4% said their regulatory agency has adopted portions of the MAHC.
