NRPA Report Benchmarks Parks & Recreation Agencies

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) released a new report giving park and recreation professionals the data they need to be industry leaders while best serving their communities with its "2020 NRPA Agency Performance Review." The report, along with its accompanying interactive and customizable online reporting tools, is a comprehensive resource of park and recreation data and insights that park leaders can use to compare their agency with those across the United States.

Industry Report: More Than 4 in 10 Park Organizations Reopening in May or June

Industry Report: More Than 4 in 10 Park Organizations Reopening in May or June

According to a COVID-19 Update Survey by Recreation Management, taken in the first week of May 2020 to update our State of the Industry Report data, more than four in 10 parks and recreation respondents said they were planning to reopen their facilities in either May or June.

Nearly three in 10 (29.8%) park respondents who had closed facilities said they would be reopening their facilities in June. Another 13.5% said they were reopening in May. Some 6.2% were planning to reopen in July, 1.5% in August, and 1.4% were planning to open in September or later.

Nearly half (47.6%) of park respondents said they did not yet know when they would be reopening their facilities.
