Industry Report: Majority of Ys Plan to Reopen Before August

In early May, Recreation Management surveyed readers to update the 2020 State of the Industry Report and to find out more about the impact of COVID-19 on recreation, sports and fitness facilities.

According to that survey, a majority of respondents from YMCAs, YWCAs, JCCs and Boys & Girls Clubs were planning to reopen their facilities in May, June or July.

While 38.5% of Y respondents to the COVID-19 Update Survey did not yet know when they would be reopening their facilities, 61.5% said they would be opening before the summer was over. Some 30.8% of Y respondents said they would reopen in May, 28.2% in June and 2.5% in July.

Stay tuned for our June issue, where we'll not only bring you the entire 2020 State of the Industry Report, but also will report on updated data from this latest survey.
