Camp Facilities Expect a Return to Normal Revenues in 2021

According to the most recent data collected for Recreation Management's State of the Industry Report, which will be reported in June 2021, respondents from camp facilities are expecting a return to relative normalcy in terms of revenue expectations. Camp facilities include private and youth camps, as well as campgrounds and RV parks.

In 2020's report, the percentage of camp respondents who reported that their revenues had increased year-over-year was up slightly for 2019, with 55.4% of camp respondents reporting that their revenues had increased from 2018. Another 29.7% of camp respondents said their revenues held steady in 2019, and 14.9% reported a decrease.

According to the most recent survey, taken early in 2021, more than seven out of 10 (70.4%) camp respondents said their revenues had fallen in 2020. Another 9.9% reported no change, and nearly one-fifth (19.7%) reported an increase.

This year, these respondents are expecting numbers to return to a fair semblance of 2019's expectations, with more than half (53.5%) projecting that their revenues will increase this year, 29.6% expecting no change from last year, and 16.9% expecting a decrease.
