ACE, WIFA Launch Opportunity to Support Women in Fitness

The American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the Women In Fitness Association (WIFA) have reached a milestone in their partnership with the launch of the WIFA Growth Grant, a scholarship that provides current ACE Certified Professionals an opportunity to build and grow their careers with a one-year WIFA membership.

Women in the Majority at Rec Centers

Women in the Majority at Rec Centers

For Recreation Management's 2021 Industry Report survey, women represented 37.3% of all respondents, while men made up 62.7% of the response. Only respondents from rec centers were more likely to be women than men: More than half (52.2%) of rec center respondents were women, while 47.8% were men. Health clubs were the next most likely home for women respondents—some 48.6% of health club respondents were women, compared to 51.4% for men. They were followed by Ys, where 41.2% of the respondents were women. Women were least likely to be the respondents from schools and colleges. Just 21.4% of school respondents were women, and 31.1% of college respondents were women.
