Free Webinar! Safety & Maintenance Considerations for Successful Splashpad Design

Feb. 2, 2022
2 p.m. EST

There's no denying the popularity of Splashpads in large and small communities across the nation. In many cases, Splashpads are replacing old wading pools. In others, a Splashpad is being introduced in lieu of a swimming pool or as a brand-new attraction.

Beneath the eye-catching features of these attractions is an intricate system that controls water usage and quality, and ensures your attraction is safe, efficient and sustainable over time. When it comes to sanitation, and chemical, mechanical and preventive maintenance, water management and a well-thought-out maintenance program is at the heart of every successful Splashpad design project.

The key to successfully maintaining a Splashpad is to design and install it with maintenance in mind. In this presentation you will:

  • Explore the different maintenance requirements for flowthrough and recirculation water management systems, and how this impacts design.
  • Discover Splashpad design strategies to mitigate some of the more common maintenance issues.
  • Gain an understanding of systems, maintenance requirements and lifecycle, and how to integrate the right solutions at the project design stage.

Group Exercise, Fitness & Yoga Among Top Planned Programs for Parks

Respondents to the Industry Report survey from parks and recreation were more likely than other respondents to report that they had plans to add programming options at their facilities over the next several years. Some 44.8% of park respondents said they had such plans—up from 40.8% in 2020. This compares with just 29.7% of non-park respondents.

The most commonly planned program addition for parks was group exercise programs, with 31.7% of those who will be adding programs at their facilities indicating that they planned to add group exercise. More than one-quarter of park respondents with plans to add programming at their facilities said they would be adding teen programming (29.8%); fitness programs (29.4%); mind-body balance programs such as yoga, Pilates and tai chi (27.9%); programs for active older adults (27.5%); educational programs (26%); and environmental education programs (25.3%).
