RESTON, VA, June 2, 2022 — SHAPE America – Society of Health and Physical Educators is pleased to announce that Kristine (Kris) Fritz has been inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame on Friday, April 30, during its National Convention & Expo in New Orleans.

Kris Fritz is a retired secondary HPE teacher and coach who continues to serve the Sheboygan School District in Wisconsin. She is now at the Early Learning Center by involvement as the Pre-K Physical Education teacher of a program she established as an Emeritus project.

Kris has been a SHAPE America member for fifty-three years, joining while in college. She is an enthusiastic professional whose service is motivated by her WAHPERD Presidential theme: “We accomplish in proportion to what we attempt.” Kris engages in activity resultant to, quote, “seeing a need” for something to be done and “leading by example.”

Fritz is an outstanding physical educator, evidenced by earning collegial recognition as both Wisconsin and SHAPE America’s Midwest District Teacher of the Year, along with the Sheboygan Area School District Volunteer of the Year Award. In addition, Kris has been recognized by SHAPE America with the Honor Award, the NASPE Joy of Effort Award, and induction into the North American Society.

Fritz excitedly shares the value of WHPE/SHAPE membership with others and is an acknowledged workshop presenter. Her ability to secure grants has greatly contributed to program improvement for the Sheboygan Area School District.

“Ms. Kris,” as she is now known by her four-year-old students, remains active, and is an advocate for the profession. While serving as SHAPE America’s Midwest District President from 2018 to 2019, Kris chose ‘Live Your Passion’ as her theme, and she continues to do so, contributing in multiple ways.
