FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES AND THE BELLWETHER DISTRICT AGREE TO MULTI-YEAR DEAL

The partnership will feature collaborative efforts in the community with a focus on girls’ youth sports and park cleanup programs in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership with The Bellwether District, the 1,300-acre sustainable development in Southwest Philly being reinvigorated into an economic engine and welcoming space for all of Philadelphia. Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP), the developer behind The Bellwether District, specializes in transforming complex properties across the United States with their uniquely holistic approach centered around the community, environment, and economy. The new partnership will include community-based and sustainability-focused initiatives that work to ensure The Bellwether District and the Eagles continue to create positive lasting change in the City of Philadelphia.

The Bellwether District will serve as an associate partner of the Eagles Girls Flag Football League of Philadelphia. The league, which began in March to increase access to girls’ youth sports, featured 16 schools from the Philadelphia public and catholic leagues in its inaugural season. The Bellwether District will assist the Eagles in identifying donation and grant opportunities which will help support league participants, as well as expand the program.

The Eagles and The Bellwether District will also launch a new sustainability initiative within the Eagles’ Go Green program. For every touchdown the Eagles score, The Bellwether District will invest in community cleanup programs throughout Philadelphia. Each year, the Eagles and The Bellwether District will also select a site within Philadelphia to take part in a community cleanup effort.

“We are thrilled to team up with The Bellwether District and its developer HRP – a company that is equally passionate about giving back to the community and creating a more sustainable environment,” said Brian Napoli, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Philadelphia Eagles. “We look forward to enhancing the impact of our Go Green program and continuing to promote female participation in sport with HRP’s commitment to our Eagles Girls Flag Football League of Philadelphia.”

“It is such a privilege to collaborate with an institution like the Philadelphia Eagles,” said Roberto Perez, CEO, HRP. “We admire how this legendary franchise shares the same core values of being a good neighbor to the residents of Philadelphia by prioritizing the community and the environment. We hope to follow in their footsteps as we join forces on these winning programs. Teamwork makes the dream work.”
