Extend Sprayground Fun

Spraygrounds have grown rapidly in popularity across the United States, and now that people are more familiar with the fun of playing in the water, you might want to think about ways to extend the fun even further. There are simple ways to make sure your sprayground is providing lasting fun for visitors.

Q: We'd like to create a sprayground that has visual appeal and encourages people to play the whole day and into the evening. What should we consider?

A: There's always something new in splash play, so talk to your manufacturer and you'll be sure to find elements that will suit your needs.

One option is to combine water and light. Some spray features include low-voltage lighting to provide a cost-effective way to illuminate your sprayground at night. The dazzling water effects and colors provide an exciting experience that extends the hours of play. The spray features can include a variety of effects, are energy-efficient, ADA-compliant and can even feature color-changing LED lights for more excitement.

Interactive features and sequencing the spray effects are other ways to keep kids playing longer. Imagine being able to activate features, manipulate the direction of the water and anticipate when they spray and dump. You can even add sound to create a multisensory experience.

Q: We'd like to refurbish our existing sprayground to make it exciting again. What should we look for?

A: Instead of starting over from scratch, talk to your manufacturer about replacing existing spray features with a whole new experience. You don't need to remove your existing pad or piping. Your manufacturer should be able to advise you on the removal of existing features and installing retrofit kits inside the existing pipes and placing new features on top. It's a simple way to revamp your sprayground's look.
