While certification in CPR, AED use and First Aid was extremely common among respondents to the Industry Report survey, fewer said they required athletic trainer certifications. Among respondents who required any certification for their staff members, 89.8% required CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and 13.5% required an athletic trainer certification.
Athletic trainer certifications were most common for respondents from colleges and universities, where 28.6% of those who required any certification looked for athletic trainer qualifications. They were followed by schools and school districts (25.9%), YMCAs, YWCAs, JCCs and similar facilities (22%), and health clubs (15.4%).
