Fluidra Will Refurbish an Aquatic Sports Center for the 2023 Pan American Games

Fluidra, a leading global provider of pool equipment and connected solutions in the pool and wellness sector, has announced that it will refurbish and extend the Aquatic Center in Chile’s National Stadium, which will host the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Santiago de Chile this autumn.

“We are extremely happy to be part of the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Chile,” said José R. Fornieles, General Manager of the Commercial Pool, Wellness, Fountains & Lagoons Division at Fluidra. “The partnerships we are building with these major aquatic sports organizations at a world level demonstrate our leading position in the commercial pool sector and our commitment to the sport that we hope to strengthen in the future.”

The project consists of renovating the competition pool (50 x 25 x 3 meters) and the training pool (50 x 25 x 2 meters), as well as refurbishing and extending the diving pool (20 x 25 x 5 meters). All of the work will be carried out in line with the requisites set in the regulation on facilities by World Aquatics, formerly the International Swimming Federation (FINA).

In the case of the competition and training pools, Fluidra’s proposal includes the renovation of the pools’ coping using Skypool renovation panels in galvanized steel, the replacement of the current hydraulic system units and new swimming competition accessories.

For the diving pool, the project includes the renovation of the pool’s coping using Skypool galvanized steel panels 1.2 meters in height, plus the walkway, and the sparger and agitation systems. In addition, it has been proposed to replace and extend the current hydraulic system units with filters, filtration pumps, valves and a disinfection system.

“Following the pandemic, the commercial pool sector has well and truly blossomed again. Hotels, resorts, sports clubs, competition venues, public pools, wellness centers, aquatic parks, etc. have all made a comeback with renewed drive and vibrant growth that we should undoubtedly celebrate,” said Fornieles. “Over the past few years, Fluidra has increasingly engaged in commercial pools by delivering our experience, products and solutions. This is a whole new challenge to continue growing in 2023.
