The American Council on Exercise (ACE) announced its participation in and full support of World Active. World Active, formerly the World Active Forum, is a worldwide platform, and future federation, that unites the health, fitness and physical activity sector globally.
“Participating in World Active holds true to one of our organization's key core values, collaboration and connection,” said Cedric X. Bryant, PhD, FACSM, ACE president and chief science officer. “Health and well-being are essential for our global future, and organizations like World Active allows for experts in this space to come together and deliver clear, impactful messages around physical activity and fitness and the enormously important role they play in improving individual and population health.”
Initially launched in June 2022, World Active brings together stakeholders from all continents to discuss the health and fitness industry’s common opportunities and challenges, speak with a unified voice, and promote health and well-being worldwide through collaboration and innovation. Organizations in the United States who currently support World Active include:
- American Council on Exercise
- Fitness Business Association
- IDEA Health & Fitness Association
- Medical Fitness Association
As World Active grows, it is expected to serve as a transparent and inclusive representative body to exchange best practices; enhance collaboration with international institutions, such as the World Health Organization; and discuss the latest dynamics and trends in and around the sector. World Active will enable information and knowledge-sharing among all of its stakeholders.
The first physical World Active gathering of representatives will culminate during FIBO Global Fitness in Cologne via the World Active Summit. The initial gathering reflects nearly a year of hard work by supporting organizations. The Summit will be a unique opportunity for key stakeholders from the sector all over the world to exchange best practices, network and learn from each other. The Chairs of World Active's Working Groups will also present their work from the summer of 2022, as well as the short and long-term plans for their respective focus areas.
As part of its open-door policy, World Active invites all stakeholders who share its mission and vision to join its unifying global movement for the health, fitness and physical activity industry. By collaborating across the sector worldwide, the fitness and physical activity sector can overcome its challenges, effectively pursue its opportunities, and unfold its full potential as societal health and wellbeing. Based on its motto 'more people, more active, more often’ World Active's members, through their new global representative body, are firmly committed to working for a physically active, healthier world.
