The NAIA announced Monday morning the 10 sites for the Baseball Opening Round of the National Tournament, and for the third time in five years, Shreveport has found itself on the very short list. This is the 20th consecutive appearance the Pilots have made in the NAIA National Tournament, an event that does not occur as often as one would think.
The Pilots hosted the Opening Round in the 2021-2022 athletic year bringing in four other teams from across the nation. The Pilots came out on top as the Opening Round Champions, but the impact for Shreveport was felt. The national tournament coming back to Shreveport not only shows the competitive aura the Pilot program continues to carry, but it brings the opportunity for the community to enjoy high level baseball. The Pilots will roll out all of the stops as they bring life to the game. Food trucks, yard games, and daily events are just a few of the features Pilots Athletics is putting on to support the fan experience.
The NAIA will announce on May 11th the teams visiting the Shreveport Bracket for the Opening Round of the World Series. The Opening Round will take place May 15th-18th at Pilot Field. Bracket and Game times for the Pilots and visiting teams will be released shortly following the May 11th announcement.
