Parks, Ys Most Engaged in Active Aging

Respondents to the Industry Report survey from parks and Ys were the most likely to currently provide programs for activegraph older adults, while parks were the most likely to be planning to add such programs. Some 41.7% of all respondents said they currently include programs for active older adults among their offerings. More than six out of 10 respondents from parks (62.3%) and Ys (62%) said they currently provide such programs. They were followed by rec centers (58.1%) and health clubs (50.7%).

Looking forward, nearly one-fifth (19%) of all respondents with plans to grow their program offerings said they would be adding programs for active older adults. They were led by parks, where 28.2% said they would be adding this type of programming. Rec centers were also more likely than others to be planning to add programs for active older adults, with 20.5% indicating they had such plans.
