American Sports Builders Association Announces the ASBA Academy

The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, has unveiled its latest educational industry initiative, the 2024 ASBA Academy.

The ASBA Academy is designed to equip those who are new to or have limited experience in the sports facility construction and design industry with the fundamental knowledge and skills required for success, all in an environment that nurtures both personal and professional growth.

The ASBA Academy consists of three separate courses with one relating to each of ASBA’s divisions: Courts, Fields and Track. Participants are able to select the division that best applies to their scope of work.

Each course’s curriculum will span the entire year with sessions presented quarterly. The first three sessions will be conducted virtually, and the fourth session will be held in person at the ASBA Technical Meeting & Tradeshow held in December. Additionally, the course will provide self-paced learning opportunities and more. Participants will be required to select one division course when they register.

Throughout the Academy, participants will:

  • Gain expert insights in sports construction techniques
  • Master sports construction terminology and concepts
  • Apply ASBA standards for superior construction practices
  • Build a network of mentors and peers within the division
  • Earn a Certificate of Accomplishment

Those who are interested can learn more and register at this link. Registration deadline for the 2024 ASBA Academy is December 15, 2023, and space is limited.

The ASBA is a non-profit association helping designers, builders, owners, operators and users understand quality sports facility construction. The ASBA sponsors informative meetings, publishes newsletters, books and technical construction guidelines for athletic facilities, and keeps its members aware of the latest developments in the industry. It also offers voluntary certification programs in tennis court, running track and sports field construction, and a certificate program in pickleball court construction.
