Rabren General Contractors has been awarded the contract from the City of Saraland to provide construction services for the infrastructure and majority of outdoor facilities of the new Saraland Sports Complex, which will feature cutting-edge sports fields, multipurpose spaces, and numerous amenities for various sports and recreational activities.
The proposal offered by the Auburn, Alabama-based contractor came in under budget with a base bid of $24,818,000. It includes the development of roadwork; site utilities; parking; a maintenance facility; sub grade for eight baseball/softball fields with VIP concession and restrooms; a; hiking path/trails; event lawn; and five multipurpose fields with restrooms and concessions.
According to Ashley-Nicole Flowers, Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Saraland, Rabren is known for its experience at managing large, complex construction projects and its statewide reputation for delivering the highest quality projects on time and under budget.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late November of this year and should take approximately one year to complete. The projected completion date for the entire Saraland Sports Complex, which includes the outdoor facilities and the indoor recreation center, is spring 2025. Hoar Program Management (HPM), a firm specializing in providing comprehensive program and project management services, ran the selection process on behalf of the city and will provide project oversight during construction.
