The most common type of sports-related amenity currently included in the facilities of respondents to the Industry Report
survey is outdoor sports courts, such as basketball, tennis and the ever-more-popular pickleball courts. More than half (55.7%) of respondents said they currently have outdoor sports courts at their facilities.
Next most common were natural turf sports fields and indoor sports courts. Almost half (47.8%) of respondents said they currently have natural turf sports fields, and a similar number (47.4%) said they currently have indoor sports courts.
While one-fifth (20%) of respondents said they currently have synthetic turf sports fields at their facilities, synthetic turf fields were the most common planned sports-related addition. Among respondents who have plans to add to their facilities over the next three years, 17.6% said they would be adding synthetic turf sports fields. Another 15.1% have plans to add outdoor sports courts at their facilities.
