The tradition of the brass ring dates back to the 1800s when rings were hung on carousels to pose a fun challenge for riders. Successfully grabbing a ring while riding the carousel often earned the rider a prize. Most rings were made of iron, but a few were made of brass, so grabbing the brass ring was a coveted and celebrated treat.

From Universal Studios Japan and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to Hasbro City and Scene75 Daytona -- the competition is fierce, and the stakes are high. This year, IAAPA will recognize the Brass Ring Award winners at an exciting new event — IAAPA Honors.
The inaugural IAAPA Honors event will bring the greatest minds in the industry together under one roof in the vibrant city of Las Vegas on Sunday, March 3, at the iconic Venetian Resort. The event's lineup includes a day full of inspiring speakers, impactful networking with the industry’s best and brightest, a showcase of the latest innovations in the sector.
