Nearly six out of 10 (59.1%) respondents to the 2024 Industry Report survey whose facilities include aquatics currently provide water
safety programs at their facilities, and 83.3% said there is a lifeguard on duty at all times the facility is open.
They're led by respondents from Ys. Some 84.6% of Y respondents said they provide water safety programs, and 97.4% said there is a lifeguard on duty at all times the facility is open. They were followed by parks, where 65.3% of respondents host water safety programs and 91.7% have a lifeguard on duty at all times the facility is open.
Respondents from camps were the least likely to host water safety programs, though nearly a third (31.3%) did so. Respondents from health clubs were the least likely to have a lifeguard on duty at all times the aquatic facility is open. In fact, less than half (47.1%) of health club respondents with aquatics said they have a lifeguard on duty at all times.
