KemperSports, a leading golf, sports, entertainment and hospitality company, has been selected by the Historic Triangle Recreational Facilities Authority (HTRFA) to manage the Williamsburg Sports & Events Center in Williamsburg, Va. The facility, which is currently being designed, is scheduled to open in 2026. The HTRFA is a partnership between the City of Williamsburg, James City County and York County.
KemperSports Venues, a division of KemperSports, will aim to deliver a best-in-class indoor sports center experience as the facility looks to become a premier destination for youth sports tournaments and events as well as a recreational resource for the local community.
“KemperSports brings a proven track record of excellence in hospitality which we believe aligns well with our vision and regional culture,” said Andrew Trivette, Chair of the HTRFA, “Their collective passion for sports and delivering exceptional experiences for our guests will be a tremendous asset to the sports complex.”
Once complete, the Williamsburg Sports & Events Center will include more than 200,000 square feet of recreation space, including 12 basketball courts that can be converted to 24 volleyball courts and 36 pickleball courts, conversion turf capabilities with enough space for one full size football field or six five-on-five soccer fields, a climbing wall, meeting space, and food and beverage areas.
"Congratulations to The Historic Triangle Recreational Facilities Authority for their foresight into the expanding sports and recreation industry,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We are excited to use our deep knowledge base and passion for customer service to ensure a best-in-class experience for our guests.”
KemperSports Venues develops and manages youth, amateur and recreation sports facilities nationwide, specializing in operational excellence, innovative programming, events, and community-driven initiatives.
In a similar development, KemperSports Venues is working with the City of Saraland (AL) as they recently broke ground to create The Land – a municipally-owned sports complex which includes a 78,000-square-foot indoor recreation center.
