The American Council on Exercise (ACE) announced the appointment of John Lally as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. Lally, who currently serves as the Executive Director and Head of Global Commercial Technology at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, brings a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking vision for the future of health and fitness.
Lally has led major transformation initiatives across the health and life sciences industries, with nearly two decades of leadership at Fortune 100 companies including Merck and Johnson & Johnson. His extensive background in life sciences technology leadership and innovation has established him as a respected thought leader, regularly presenting at national conferences.
"John’s innovative approach and deep understanding of the intersection between technology and healthcare make him the perfect fit to lead our Board of Directors," said Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D., FACSM, ACE president and chief executive officer. "John has served on our board in a number of roles since 2019, we are confident that his vision and leadership will help propel ACE forward as we continue to empower people to live healthier lives."
Lally holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Georgetown University. He also earned a certificate in User Experience Design from MIT, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
