Respondents to the Industry Report Survey from parks and Ys were the most likely to report that they had formed partnerships with nonprofit organizations or with corporations or local businesses. Forming partnerships is a common way for recreation, sports and fitness facilities to increase their funding and their reach. Some 85.4% of all respondents to the survey said they form such partnerships.
More than half (55.6%) of all respondents said they form partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Respondents from parks were the most likely to do so, with 69.4% indicating they had partnered with nonprofits. They were followed by Ys (68.6%) and camps (65.2%).
Somewhat fewer respondents (46.7%) in 2024 said they had partnered with a business. Respondents from Ys were the most likely to partner with businesses, with two-thirds (66.7%) of Y respondents indicating they had formed such a partnership. They were followed by parks (57.1%) and rec centers (53.6%).
