Outside of budgetary issues, parks listed staffing issues and equipment and facility maintenance as the top concerns for their facilities. Some 58.3% of park respondents said staffing issues were a top concern, while 53.1% named equipment and facility maintenance a top concern. This compares with 53.4% and 52.1% of non-park respondents, respectively.
Around one-quarter of park respondents listed safety and risk management (24.8%), marketing and increasing participation (24%) and creating new and innovative programming (24%) as top concerns. This compares with 25.1%, 25.2% and 23.3% of non-park respondents, respectively.
Respondents from parks were much more likely than others to report that accessibility and conservation were top issues of concern. Some 11.8% of park respondents named accessibility a top concern, compared to 6.4% of non-park respondents. And while 11% of park respondents said conservation and environmental issues were a top concern, just 4.9% of non-park respondents called conservation a top issue of concern.
