Pool & Hot Tub Alliance Issues Call for Standards Consensus Committee Participation

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, spa, and hot tub industry, is issuing a call for participation on the Standards Consensus Committee (SCC), PHTA’s official American National Standards Institute (ANSI) consensus voting body. The SCC is responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool, spa, and hot tub standards to be approved by ANSI.

Members of the PHTA SCC are classified into one of four interest categories: Producer, User-Government, User-Consumer, or General Interest. Participants in PHTA’s standards development process include subject matter experts such as public health officials, architects, engineers, code officials, consultants, product manufacturers, representatives from other industry organizations, and individuals with expertise or interest in advancing the pool, spa, and hot tub industry.

Currently, there are openings available in all interest categories. To be considered for a position on the SCC for a term beginning in 2025, applicants must submit a completed SCC Application Form by November 1, 2024, and agree to adhere to PHTA’s Procedures for American National Standards, Antitrust Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, and Volunteer Code of Conduct.
