Industry Report survey respondents from parks were the most likely to have outdoor courts for sports like basketball and tennis,
while those from colleges were the most likely to have indoor courts.
Some 60.8% of all respondents said they currently have outdoor courts. This compares with more than three-quarters (75.1%) of respondents from parks. More than half of respondents from colleges (62.9%), rec centers (57.4%) and schools (55.2%) also said they had outdoor courts.
Around half of all respondents (49.7%) said they currently have indoor courts. They were led by respondents from colleges and universities, 85.3% of whom said they have indoor courts. Colleges were followed by Ys (76.7%), schools (69%) and rec centers (62%).
Some 14.3% of all respondents with plans to add amenities at their facilities said they would add outdoor courts, led by those from Ys (28.6%). And 13.1% of all respondents with plans to add amenities at their facilities said they would add indoor courts, led by those from Ys (17.9%).
