When it comes to the various types of programming offered at their facilities, the most common for all respondents to the Industry
Report survey are holidays and special events, group exercise programs, and educational programs.
Some 78.3% of respondents said they currently host holiday events and other special events at their facilities, while 23.8% of those with plans to expand their offerings said they would offer this type of program. Ys (93.8%), parks (89%), and rec centers (88.9%) were the most likely to host holiday events and other special events.
Nearly two-thirds (65%) of all respondents said they currently have group exercise programs at their facilities, while 20.6% of those with plans to expand their offerings said they’d be adding group exercise. Rec centers (80%), Ys (79.2%), and health clubs (78.4%) were the most likely to have group exercise programs at their facilities.
Some 61.8% of all respondents said they currently include educational programs at their facilities, while 24.1% of those with plans to expand their programming lineup said they would be adding educational programs. Ys (81.3%), schools and school districts (79.2%), and rec centers (70%) were the most likely to include educational programs at their facilities.
