Nearly two-thirds of respondents to the Industry Report survey in 2024 said that the number of people using their facilities increased
in 2023, and more than two-thirds were expecting to see an increase in 2024. In 2023, 64.6% of all respondents reported an increase in participation at their facilities, and 67.6% said they expected an increase in 2024.
The greatest increases in participation in 2023 were reported by respondents from Ys (81.6%), rec centers (78.5%), and health clubs (71.8%). At the other end of the spectrum, respondents from colleges (42.5%) and schools (44%) were the least likely to report that the number of people using their facilities had increased in 2023.
For 2024, respondents from Ys (81.3%), rec centers (78.3%), and parks (74%) were the most likely to be expecting the number of people using their facilities to increase.
