Synthetic turf sports fields were most commonly found among college and school facilities covered by the Industry Report survey.
While 24.4% of all respondents said they currently have synthetic turf sports fields, some 58.6% of college respondents and 48.3% of school respondents have synthetic turf fields.
Looking forward, 17.3% of all respondents with plans to add features and amenities to their facilities said they would be adding synthetic turf sports fields. Respondents from schools (30.8%) were the most likely to have such plans. At least one-quarter of respondents from health clubs (28.6%), colleges (25.6%), and Ys (25%) also said they were planning to add synthetic turf fields to their facilities over the next few years.
