Bike Trails Most Common for Parks, Camps

About one-third (33.2%) of all respondents to the 2024 Industry Report survey said they currently include bike trails at their facilities.graph They were led by respondents from parks and recreation districts and departments, where 51.6% said they currently have bike trails. They were followed by camp respondents (42%), and rec centers (33.3%). 

Bike trails were somewhat more common in rural communities, where 34.3% of respondents included them, than in urban areas (32.2%) and suburban communities (29.7%).

Looking forward, 13.1% of respondents with plans to add amenities to their facilities said they would be adding bike trails. Camps (16.7%) were the most likely to have such plans, followed by respondents from parks (16.4%).
