Ys, Parks Lead on Programs to Keep Older Adults Active

Respondents to the 2025 Industry Report survey from Ys and parks were the most likely to report that they currently offer programsgraph for active older adults. While 44.4% of all respondents said they currently provide such programming, that number rises to 77.6% for Ys and 61.5% for parks. More than half of respondents from health clubs (53.3%) and rec centers (50.6%) also said that they currently include programs for active older adults in their offerings.

Looking forward, among respondents with plans to add any kind of programming at their facilities, 16.1% said they are planning to add programs for active older adults. Respondents from schools (23.8%) and camps (20%) were the most likely to include active older adult programs in their plans. They were followed by parks (18.9%) and rec centers (18.2%)
