Some of Cary, N.C.’s award-winning facilities recently saw an audio upgrade than aims to provide clear sound for visitors and residents.
From the Downtown Cary Park to the USA Baseball National Training Complex, the town of Cary cares about quality for its residents. Just in the past two years, the Downtown Cary Park has been awarded numerous awards including being named the No. 1
Best Public Playground in 2025 by USA Today’s 10Best along with awards in 2024 from the National Association of Landscape Professionals, the Landscape Contractors Association, WRAL News, and the Triangle Business Journal.
“Cary citizens love coming to Cary facilities because they know they’re going to get a high-quality experience,” said Cailen Waddell, program supervisor of technical operations for the Town of Cary, NC. “We make it our goal to help everyone provide the best performance possible by ensuring they have the right equipment and sound.”
The Downtown Cary Park was built for the community and has quickly become an economic driver for the downtown area. At the center of the Park is the Great Lawn Pavilion featuring a beautiful amphitheater powered by two J7-95 loudspeakers, 2 SH95-HO loudspeakers as downfills and a compliment of subwoofers, all from Danley Sound Labs. For smaller events, Danley Go2 loudspeakers are recessed into the ceiling.
In addition to the Great Lawn Pavilion, loudspeakers and subwoofers can be found in the Cary Theater and the USA Baseball National Training Complex. In the Cary Theater, SH100B loudspeakers TH112 subwoofers can be found behind the theater’s transparent screen for films. There is an all Danley full surround and a main PA for other events. The USA Baseball National Training Complex was developed in collaboration between USA Baseball and the town of Cary. This facility utilizes Danley loudspeakers, subwoofers and amplifiers across all facilities including the complex’s indoor training facility.
“One of the things I enjoy about working with the town of Cary is that they have such talented employees,” said Scott Carneval, president of Precision Audio. “We can discuss the technical aspects of which speakers and subwoofers so we can find the best option for their facility.”
“If I had advice for other communities, it would simply be to get the right products for the job,” said Waddell. “Do it right the first time. It is possible to find the right products to create the right experiences without going over budget.”
