9 in 10 Health Clubs Say Usage Increased or Held Steady in 2025

According to the 2026 Industry Report survey results, more than half (51.2%) of health club respondents saw usage of their facilitiesgraph increase in 2025, while another 39.5% said the number of people using their facilities remained the same from 2024 to 2025. Just 9.3% said the number had decreased.

While that’s a slight uptick of respondents reporting a decline in visits from 2024 to 2025, it is still much lower than the numbers coming out of the pandemic, when as many as three-quarters (75%) of health club respondents reported declining visits.

It also beats pre-covid numbers, with 10.8% of health club respondents reporting a decline in 2019 and 12.5% reporting a decrease in 2018.

Stay tuned for the 2026 State of the Industry Report, coming in our June issue, where we’ll report on this and other trends, as well as health club respondents’ expectations for 2026 and 2027.
