In 2026, 55.9% of all respondents to the Industry Report survey said that they currently include outdoor sports courts among their facilities. Respondents from parks were the most likely to have outdoor courts, with nearly three-quarters (74.5%) indicating they currently have at least one outdoor sports court.
When it comes to planning, 15.9% of all respondents with plans to add amenities at their facilities said they plan to add outdoor sports courts, making them the fifth most commonly planned addition in 2026.
Since 2010, an average of 11.2% of all respondents with plans to add amenities have planned to add outdoor sports courts. 2026 represents a high, while the lowest percentage was reported in 2017 (8.3%), well before the pickleball boom began.
