Accept the Challenge

Our annual Industry Report survey has shown for many years that the vast majority of professionals working in recreation, sports and fitness facility management are satisfied with their work and happy in their jobs. But even the most cheerfully employed professional must deal with challenges in the course of their careers.

There are the small-c challenges that might occur in your facility on a day-to-day basis—pool water that must be sanitized and balanced, park furnishings that must be maintained, equipment that must be organized and litter that must be picked up and put in its proper place. There are also big-C Challenges that might motivate your decision-making, such as inclusion for those with different abilities, or green initiatives that demand eco-friendly choices when it comes to purchasing products and outfitting your facilities.

Little-c or big-C, manufacturers stay on top of these types of trends and develop best practices and products to address them. In this issue, we highlight those problem-solving products and practices, helping you better understand the options as you handle these challenges on a daily basis. Some of those will be the daily headaches and bumps in the road you want to smooth out. Others address the bigger challenges like inclusion, the effects of extreme heat, sustainability and more.

Challenges help us grow—in our personal lives and in our careers. As we address and move on from each problem we face, we grow our confidence to handle the next challenge that comes along.

Accept those challenges, address them, and move on!

Cheers!
