Swimmers

A national membership nonprofit providing benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country, U.S. Masters Swimming has a mission to empower people 18 and over to improve their lives through swimming. The organization offers clubs to train with, events to swim in, content to help swimmers improve and more.

USMS has 52 Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSCs). Members of USMS become members of their LMSC, in addition to registering with a club, a workout group or as unattached. LMSCs are regional governing bodies that provide benefits from sanctioning events to newsletters and websites, awards and recognition and social connection. The LMSCs provide direct support to more than 1,200 Masters Swimming clubs and workout groups.

Benefits of USMS membership include:

  • A workout library with thousands of searchable workouts.
  • Coaching, with the ability to search for a club online and find a coach who can provide personal attention and technical advice.
  • SWIMMER Magazine, with advice on technique, product reviews and more.
  • More than 500 USMS-sanctioned pool meets and open water swims across the U.S., in addition to spring and summer championships, as well as virtual competitions and fitness challenges.

Members also receive certain discounts, access to enhanced workout metrics, social engagement and volunteering opportunities and more.

Membership also helps support important programs, including Adult Learn-to-Swim grants through the USA Swimming Foundation, USMS coach training and certification, college club swimming development and more.
