Toolkit Aims to Address Physical Inactivity Crisis

The nonprofit Global Wellness Institute has released its Wellness Policy Toolkit: Physical Activity, which takes a deep dive into the causes of rising levels of physical inactivity around the world, and suggests tangible ways that new policies, government resources and public-private partnerships can tackle the crisis. The toolkit outlines six distinct areas of policy action, from encouraging activity via the built environment to integrating activity into the medical system.

According to the 2022 State of the Industry Report, 38.1% of all respondents named any kind of fitness or wellness as a top concern. This includes general fitness and wellness (24.5% named it a top concern); youth fitness and wellness (16.1%) and older adult fitness and wellness (12.7%).
