Majority of Parks See Increasing Usage

Camps Expect Revenue Growth in 2024

More than seven out of 10 (70.3%) respondents to the Industry Report survey representing camp facilities said they expect their revenues in 2024 to be higher than in 2023.

More Than Two-Thirds Plan Construction

More than two-thirds of respondents to the Industry Report survey in 2024 said they had plans for construction at their facilities over the next several years. 

Health Clubs, Colleges Have Strongest Fitness Focus

While more than half (50.5%) of all respondents to the 2024 Industry Report survey said they had a fitness center at their facilities, respondents from health clubs, colleges and Ys were the most likely to have fitness centers, and likewise to offer fitness programs.

Ys Lead on Water Safety

Nearly six out of 10 (59.1%) respondents to the 2024 Industry Report survey whose facilities include aquatics currently provide water safety programs at their facilities, and 83.3% said there is a lifeguard on duty at all times the facility is open. 

Fitness Offerings Are Third Most Popular Program

According to the results of the 2023 Industry Report survey, fitness programs were the third most commonly offered program at facilities of all kinds. More than half (55.3%) of all respondents said they currently provide fitness programs. 

Most Commonly Planned Sports Addition? Synthetic Turf Fields

The most common type of sports-related amenity currently included in the facilities of respondents to the Industry Report survey is outdoor sports courts, such as basketball, tennis and the ever-more-popular pickleball courts. More than half (55.7%) of respondents said they currently have outdoor sports courts at their facilities.

Nearly a Third Engage in Learn-to-Swim Outreach

Various grants and programs across the country have made it their mission to remove the barriers to learn-to-swim program for minority and low-income communities. The number of respondents to the Aquatic Trends survey who are involved in these types of outreach programs has remained relatively consistent over the past few years.
